Bibimbap restaurant is a household name for Korean lovers in London, unlike most other Korean restaurants, the menu is short and they focus on one dish: The "Bibimbap", a traditional steaming hot stone pot which contain rice with salad and meat. But the Bibimbap restaurant has modernised it with a wide choice of vegetables and meat to go with the rice, such as spicy chicken and tofu. The place also offers some simple side dishes like katsu and Korean savoury pancake. With each types costing around the £5 to the £8 mark, it makes this place one of the cheapest Korean restaurant in central London.

For my starter, I had the on-trend "KFC", which gained a massive popularity since about 3 years and now pretty much every single Korean restaurants would have it in its menu. The Bibimbap version was average at best, the crispy batter was thin and dry, seasoning was also lacking. However the signature bibimbap was simply wonderful, I went for the "Beef Bool-Go-Gi Rice" which contained sweet soy sauce marinated beef served with coleslaw salad. It was very flavoursome with bags of sweet and savoury flavours, it tasted even better with a few drops of gochujang to enhance the mild spiciness.

The Bibimbap is one of my personal favourite when it comes to Korean dishes and this place has done it justice, great seasoning in its meat with plenty of quality garnishes. Service, funnily enough, is a lot better than your usual Korean places, with the waiters speaking excellent English and pretty friendly. With price similar to the standard Chinese restaurants in China Town, Bibimbap is a great alternative if you fancy Oriental food at a very affordable price. It has two sites, one in Soho and one in Charlotte Street. Personally I would avoid the Soho joint as it is always busy and with a no booking policy, it can be a mission to get hold of a table.
