As you can easily figure out, Viet Eat is a casual Vietnamese restaurant in Holborn. This place is extremely popular at lunch hour, all thanks to the famous "Banh Mi": a Vietnamese baguette that is usually filled with grilled meat with far eastern seasoning. On top of that it also offers all the usual Vietnamese classic such as pho and vermicelli on the go. The cost is similar to other Asian take-away chain such as "Wasabi" and "Kimchee To Go" but with better quality and made-to-order, so it is to understandable why this place is always jam packed every weekday.

I opted for the set lunch, the prawn pancake starter was basically a DIY summer roll, the mild fish sauces worked nicely with the prawn cake and salad, all wrapped in together in harmony with lettuces. The rice noodle was silky and smooth just as a good bowl of pho should be, the broth was lighter than what I expected, but it still carried enough flavours from the beef bones and spices. I would had liked my beef more thinly sliced as it was rather chewy and it seemed like it was cooked too long inside the broth. While the food was not anywhere close to exquisite or exciting, Viet Eat offers very solid Vietnamese cooking at a reasonable price, a place that is ideal for a quick meal or a simple dinner for any Asian food lovers.
